Dr. Jean-Charles Chebat holds the ECSC Research Chair of Retailing at HEC-Montreal. He was the first marketing researcher ever elected to the Royal Society of Canada, and the first professor of management elected as President of Academy I, the Canadian Academy of Sciences and Humanities. Chebat was knighted by the Prime Minister of Quebec for his academic contributions. He has received various Fellowships in the U.S. and Japan.
He has published more than 150 articles in journals such as the Journal of Business Research, Journal of Retailing, International Journal of Research in Marketing, Psychology & Marketing, Industrial Marketing Management, Environment & Behavior, Perceptual & Motor Skills, Journal of Social Psychology; and the Journal of Economic Psychology.
Chebat has received various research awards, including the Distinguished Scholar award from the SMA, and best multidisciplinary researcher from ACFAS (Canada), in addition to seven best paper awards. He is on the board of various journals, including the Journal of Retailing, Journal of Business Research, and the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science. Chebat also is the Associate Editor of Perceptual & Motor Skills and Psychological Reports, as well as a consultant to several major Canadian services companies.
